It has become trendy now that more and more people start traveling abroad when they are free from school or work. It may not just for traveling, but also for business or mission purpose; however, the traveler may all have the same issues while traveling. Difficult this… Difficult that… But not anymore! Now, I would like to take this opportunity to share you guys all the applications that I have been using in the first place.
Best App for Accommodation Booking: Booking.com
This is the best app for me to book any hotel, or hostel. It is described as “The best travel app for hotel & vacation rental deals for your vacation trips!” It is true! I can navigate and filter specific kind of hotel or hostel I want to stay during the period of travel. In addition, it also provides us traveling guide after we have booked any hotel in the country we are traveling to. We can download the guide for offline usage and look around where we want to go easily and conveniently. Popular destinations or top attractions are all suggested in the app as well. Moreover, it also records every single place we have stayed during our visit to another country. Thus, we can conveniently check back when we want to revisit and stay at the same hotel. Just go to the “Bookings” section in the app, we can view our Past, Current and Upcoming booking! Easy-peasy, right? What is more, we can also refer friends to Booking.com. They will get 10% back, and we can get US $15 after each time of booking. Start booking now at this LINK.
Other Accommodation Apps:
ZEN Rooms (Available for Southeast Asia region)
“ZEN Rooms is now the #3 economy franchise at SEA”
The Press said:
- “Singapore Business Review: Founded in 2015 in Jakarta, ZEN Rooms has since become the fastest growing budget accommodation franchise in the SEA.” – Singapore Business Review
- “Within six-months of launching, ZEN Rooms grew the brand to cover 600 rooms in key vacation areas, making it one of the five largest budget hotel operators in the country, and challenging the leadership of other brands such as Go Hotels and Red Planet.” – Manila Standard Today
- “ZEN Rooms is already among the top five largest hotel chains in the country. Last year, the company grew more than 20-fold, and expects to grow another five-fold this year.” – Forbes Indonesia
- and many others more… …
Without me saying anything, right? You surely can trust this hotel, and have a great stay there. Start booking now to get US $20 discount via HERE.
Psss! You can also get discount with many ZEN Rooms partners, such as Air Asia, Uber, Lazada and etc.
This one is quite interesting for those who love adventure.
It’s quite similar to Booking.com anyway! With Airbnb you can:
- Book homes and experiences for your next solo journey, family vacation, or business trip
- Search for last-minute accommodations or long-term rentals
- Save your favorite homes, experiences, and places—and invite friends and family to plan the trip with you
- Add experiences and events to your itinerary
- Message your host and get directions to your home.
I haven’t tried this one out, yet I surely give it a try next time. I’m kinda adventurous.
Apps for Transportation Booking:
This app helps you search, compare and book flights from many airlines around the world. All you need to do is search, filter and book the flights you want to take. By this app, you can save so much money and time!
Beside from flight, you can also look for Hotels, Car rental, Travel tips & news, Vacation packages and some other Special offers.
In addition, if you are not often travel, you can also go to their website.
Not so different from Cheapflights, Skyscanner also provide the same services to the users. You can look for flights, hotels, car rental and many other deals there.
You can either download the application or go straight to the website.
Despite the fact that flights from this application are quite limited, it’s also a suggested application you should have as well. It is super convenient for me since I fly a lot with AirAsia. With this app, we can book flights and check-in while on-the-go! View the lowest fares, manage the booking and pre-book meals, seats, baggage and travel insurance just via the app.
Not different from any other flight booking site, AirAsia also has it own website.
[Flights] AirAsia BIG LOYALTY
Beside from the AirAsia app, we surely need to have this one as well. Why? … … Because after we bought flights from AirAsia, we can score some BIG point to further use later. It is where the point will be used. We can use the point to redeem flight, which mean we pay nothing with money but point that we have already saved. Cool, right?
P.s.: Sometime, AirAsia also provide the loyalty member promotion as well! Better check this app out, will you?

With over 350 million reviews and opinions by travelers, TripAdvisor makes it easy to find the lowest airfare, best hotels, great restaurants, and fun things to do, wherever you go. What I love most about TripAdvisor is that, I can check, plan ahead where I wanna go, save it and read all the reviews there. Also, I can prepare the plan in the app and print it out. Super convenient and not time consuming at all. Like mentioned above, Just a tap away!
[Travel Guide] Rome2rio
I can say this is one of my favorite application that I have been using. Rome2rio is a comprehensive global trip planner that helps you discover how to get anywhere. You can enter any town, address or landmark as your destination and Rome2rio will instantly display flight, train, bus, ferry and driving options with estimated travel times and fares. Super convenient, right? Everything is in your hand, and it tells you where to go and what to take next! Super love!
[Map] Google Maps
I think all of you know google maps already; so no need more explanation, right?
Wanna go any where, just type in your location and destination. You’ll get where you want to go. Easy-peasy!
But what I am disappointed about google maps is that, it cannot use offline. So I’ll suggest you another one in the next section.
You can also check the website as well.
MAPS.ME is free, fast, detailed and entirely offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation – trusted by over 65 million travelers worldwide.
I highly suggest you guys to use this app since it can be used offline. Just download where you wanna go, then you’ll get the map of the place right in your palm. No need to worry about no internet connect or no WiFi abroad.
To sum up:
That’s all for my collection of top apps I have been using. I would love to send this article to all the independent traveler out there. Hope you find this useful! And if you have any other apps to suggest me back, please comment in the section below. I’d love to hear from all of you! Thanks for reading!
